Meet the Founder of Credible Tax Solutions

Kenneth Cournoyer is the founder of Credible Tax Solutions, LLC. Kenneth had a distinguished, 35-year career with the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Agent, in which he received several performance awards, manager awards and a special act award. In 1991 he became a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Rhode Island.

During his tenure with the IRS, he received training in the following specialty areas:

· All phases of IRS Revenue Agent examination technics for individuals, corporations, partnerships and trusts.

· Specialized Enforcement Program (SEP) to investigate unreported income generated from illegal sources.

· Criminal Tax Trial Summary Expert Witness.

· Fiduciary Income Tax.

· Foreign Trusts and other Offshore Entities.

· Abusive Tax schemes.

· Promoters of abusive tax schemes.

Some of his career highlights include:

· Examination of numerous individual, corporate, partnership and trust tax returns.

· Referral of multiple fraud cases to the IRS Criminal Investigation Division.

· Working with the IRS Criminal Investigation Division, U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice as a Cooperating Agent and a Trial Summary Expert Witness.

· Working with the IRS Criminal Investigation Division on the execution of multiple search warrants.

· Testifying as an expert witness in Tax Court.

· Testifying in Federal Court multiple times as an expert witness in criminal tax evasion cases, tax return preparer injunction cases, and in a criminal threat and assault case.

· Testifying as an expert witness for a Federal Grand Jury in a criminal tax evasion case.

· Working with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice on multiple tax evasion guilty plea deals.

· Conducting multiple civil injunction investigations on abusive tax scheme promoters and tax return preparers.

· Examination of multiple self-directed IRAs, one of which resulted in litigation within Tax Court providing a favorable decision for the Federal Government.

· Conducting Offshore Compliance Initiative examinations that resulted in multiple FBAR and international information return penalty assessments.

· Working with local police and state taxation authorities on multiple IRS non-filer cases.

· Serving as a classroom instructor for IRS Agent training.

· Serving as an instructor for tax return preparers.

· Initiating and supervising multiple tax examination projects.
